Lessons From The Microphone
Feb 26, 2021The Microphone Is My Spirit Animal….What do I mean when I say this?
"Spirit animals" are sometimes considered actual spirits, but a more logical rendering would be that they are anthropomorphisms of messages from one's own consciousness.
Basically we, or the collective unconscious, is communicating messages to us using the symbolism of animals by giving them human qualities.
In which case, anything we have a relationship with can play the function of 'spirit animal.' We can take any idea and personify it.
Anthropomorphism is essentially the humanization of animals or objects as a literary tool.
Thus, when the microphone becomes a living entity, stepping onto the stage is no longer a mental recitation of a memorized talk, but living wildly in relation to the present moment.
By doing so, we recognize that taking the mic is a doorway to another reality, and we as speakers have so much to learn from this place.
Let me leave you with a question: If the microphone was your spirit animal what would it be called?
Mine would be the Raging Bullfrog or the Timid Fox.
What's yours?
(You actually just get to make it up).
